Diploma Networking and System Security begins with courses designed to build Students foundational skills in IT. You'll then focus on the network security side of IT, learning Microsoft and Cisco technologies as well as other cybersecurity and digital forensics topics. Specifically, you'll write a proposal to design a network, including a plan to administer and maintain the network; learn how to install and configure advanced Windows server services; implement advanced server infrastructure; and troubleshoot IT problems.

You will take classes in our cutting-edge laboratories, which are part of our Cisco Networking Academy and System Security Research Centre.

Job prospects

  • According to The US Bureau of Labor Statistics' Information Security Analyst's Outlook, cybersecurity jobs are among the fastest-growing career areas nationally. The BLS predicts cybersecurity jobs will grow 31% through 2029, over seven times faster than the national average job growth of 4%
  • According to the US Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the median network security salary for analysts is $81,100 annually. However, certain well-established companies could have a higher entry-level salary than others may, and Information Security Analysts make well over $95,000. The importance of network security means specialists are in very high demand, due to faster technology and more networks going mobile. In fact, some technology businesses have reached people on a global scale.
  • Network security jobs focus on designing and improving computer systems to protect the company against threats. The job market of the network security analyst or ISA is constantly rising.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements into National Innovation Diploma in Computer Software Engineering programme include any of the following:-

  • Five (5) credit level passes in GCE “O” level or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) at not more than two sittings. The five subjects must include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and any other subject.
  • Minimum JAMB score - 150
